1 - GETTING YOUR DOCUMENTS READY !

To apply online you will need to have the following documents ready:

  1. Two  identification documents (Passport, Identity card or Driver License)
  2. One Proof of Address  from any of the following:
    • Gas, electricity, internet, television, landline phone issued within the last three months
    • Landlord letter confirming address within the last three months
    • Statement for a bank account or credit card (issued within the last three months)
  3. Two written references from any of the following:
    • Senior bank employee or manager
    • Medical practitioner or pharmacist
    • Accountant, legal practitioner, notary or magistrate
    • Landlord of rented premises where customer lives

Once you have all your documents ready, your Personal bank account application should not take more that 5 to 7min. If you are applying for a Business Bank Account it will take a little longer as more documents are required.

2 - PROVIDING YOUR IDENTITY DOCUMENTS

When taking a picture or uploading your ID you will be provided with tools to rotate or crop the image. Please read below in order to supply your documents conform to our requirements. You will then be requested to take a picture of your face (selfie) so we can match your ID with your face using biometric technology.

YOUR PHOTO MUST LOOK LIKE THE ONE BELOW

IMPORTANT POINTS

  1. The image of your ID document MUST BE A PHOTOGRAPH

  2. Do not make or upload a photocopy of your ID document

  3. The photograph of your ID document MUST INCLUDE THE ENTIRE PAGE THAT HAS THE IMAGE OF YOUR FACE

  4. The photograph BE CLEAR and EASILY READ

  5. An OUT OF FOCUS, BLURRY OR FUZZY PHOTO THAT IS NOT CLEAR or CANNOT BE READ WILL NOT WORK

  6. If the photograph of your PASSPORT includes the top section of the page (the part without the document number and your personal details) please DRAG THE BLUE LINE DOWN TO CROP / REMOVE THE TOP SECTION… so your photograph only contains the part of your Passport that looks like the picture on the left.

  7. If the photograph of your ID document was taken at a different angle (e.g., upside down) than the picture on the left, before uploading, please use the rotating tool provided to rotate the photo of your ID document until it looks the same as the picture on the left.

FOR BEST RESULTS

  1. Place you ID document on a flat surface

  2. Position your camera directly above your ID document.

  3. Take the photo from directly above, not skewed or at an angle.

  4. Make sure there is no glare or reflected light that can make your photo hard to read.

  5. Make sure all and only the relevant parts of your ID document (the part with the image of your face and personal details) is displayed on your device.

  6. Check to see, if your photograph looks like the picture on the left.

DEFINITIONS / WHAT DOES IT MEAN

  • CROP – to crop a photograph means to delete or remove an unwanted part of a photograph. You can do this easily by using the ‘Cropping Tool’ provided. Simply drag the ‘BLUE LINE’ down to remove an unwanted part of your photo.

  • ROTATE – to rotate means change the angle or turn (clockwise or counter-clockwise) the photograph of your ID document so it is in the correct angle for uploading. This can be easily done by using the ROTATING TOOL (arrows going left or right) provided. Clicking on the arrows will rotate the photograph of your ID document … left is counter clockwise, right is clockwise … until it is positioned so it looks like the picture above.

  • RESET … to reset means to go back to the initial image and angle. Use the reset button, if you need or want to start over. Clicking on RESET will reposition the BLUE LINE and ROTATION of your ID photograph back to their initial / original state.

  • IGNORE … click IGNORE, if you don’t need to crop or rotate the photograph of your ID document.

  • CROP AGAIN … use CROP AGAIN, if you need to recrop / remove more unwanted sections your ID document photograph … so your ID photo is exactly like the picture above.
